Richard R. Reilly Sr., beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grand father, and proud Army Veteran, passed away peacefully on November 10, 2025. He was born in Compton, California, and from an early age embodied the values of service, dedication, and family that would define his life.
On July 14, 1960, Richard enlisted in the United States Army, beginning a distinguished 20 year military career. He served his country with honor, including multiple tours in Vietnam, and earned the respect of all who served alongside him. Richard retired on July 31, 1980, having attained the rank of Sergeant Major—one of the Army’s highest enlisted positions and a testament to his leadership, integrity, and unwavering commitment.
Richard was preceded in death by his first wife, Kathleen Reilly, with whom he shared many cherished years, and great-grandson Shaun Quinn Eggleston.
He is survived by his devoted wife, Vicki Reilly; his children, Richard Reilly Jr. and his wife Pam, and daughter Jo Ann Kochell and her partner Paul Rademacher, step-children Randall Tollman and his wife Angela, and Daniel Tollman, and his grandchildren, Sheri Oswald and her husband Ian, Michael Eggleston and his wife Nekita, Courtney Holmes, Anderson Riley, Justin Reilly and wife Jubelking, Richard Reilly III (Trey) and wife Erica, Bailey Grabert and husband Randy, Madison, and Hannah. Richard also leaves behind numerous great-grandchildren, along with nieces and nephews who will forever hold his memory dear.
Known for his steady presence, his sense of humor, and his deep love for his growing family, Richard’s legacy lives on in the many lives he touched. His strength, generosity, and service will be remembered always.
A life well-lived, a service well-rendered—Richard R. Reilly Sr. will be profoundly missed.
