Donald Cecil Vaughn, 88, of Kingsport went to be with the Lord on Sunday, November 30, 2025, at his home. He was born in Scott County, VA to the late Frank and Lula Vaughn. Donald worked for Kingsport Press for over 30 years before his retirement. He was an avid fisherman and enjoyed watching Wrestling and listening to gospel music. Donald was a loving husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, brother, and friend who will be greatly missed by all who knew him.  

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Wanda Vaughn; daughter, Melissa Vaughn; sister, Janice Lawson; brothers, Darrell and Harold Vaughn; great granddaughter, Kinley Williams; special friend, Jeff Gilreath. 

Survivors include his daughters, Debbie Rhea and husband Buford, Teresa Frost and husband David, Tammy Jobe and husband RJ; sons, Mike Vaughn and wife Annamarie, and Wayne Vaughn and wife Lola; 14 grandchildren; 33 great-grandchildren; 11 great-great grandchildren; sisters, Wanda Hopkins and husband Stanley, Margaret Hammonds and husband Ralph; along with a host of friends and extended family.  

The family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm on Thursday, December 4, 2025, at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. A funeral service will follow with Anthony Vaughn officiating. Music will be provided by Josh Collins. 

A graveside service will be conducted at 11am on Friday, December 5, 2025, at Church Hill Memory Gardens with his grandsons serving as pallbearers. Those wishing to attend are asked to meet at the cemetery by 10:50am.
