Phyllis Ann Puett died on the evening of November 26, 2025. She was born to John and Belva Weybright in Elkhart Indiana January 1, 1938. The family moved to Arizona when she was 9. Phyllis was a beloved wife, sister, mother, grandmother, great grandmother, aunt, and friend. She will leave a hole in the heart of her husband of nearly 70 years, Bobby Andrew Puett. Bobby and Phyllis met on April Fool’s Day in 1955 and were married on her 18th birthday, January 1, 1956. They had three children; Charles Ray, Donna Kay, (married to Frank Molinek) and Kenneth Wayne (married to Jackie).

Phyllis was predeceased by her older siblings, Margaret Schulz and John Weybright and is survived by her younger siblings, Robert Weybright and Sara Kempke. She has left behind many grandchildren and great grandchildren: Chas (married to Analisa), Charlie, Sunni, Daniel (married to Rosie), Maddox, Rudy (married to Catie), Shea, Sullivan (affianced to Charlie), Ashley (married to Scott), Breanne, Adeline, Jace, and Kenneth.

Phyllis will be remembered for her smile, her infectious and distinctive laugh, and her beautiful singing voice. She was a talented seamstress, calendar maker, crocheter, and creator of many other crafts. All who knew her were recipients of at least one of her beautiful works. She made sure all her descendants as well as children of friends and relatives were kept warm by the lovingly created blankets and afghans. Friends and relatives waited with anticipation for their decorated calendars at Christmas. She loved being with friends and had regularly scheduled meal outings and spent many years on bowling teams. Phyllis was also a voracious reader - her collection of books was immense and could easily have started a small library. She loved watching all University of Arizona sports teams and collected UA memorabilia. Her talent at calling out referee mistakes was legendary. They enjoyed many tailgate parties with friends. At home, she rarely missed an episode of Jeopardy! and those watching with her were amazed by her shouting out (mostly correct) questions to the answers.

Phyllis and Bobby had a long loving marriage marked with many moves around the world and separations courtesy of the US Air Force, until settling in Tucson. There she started working with the Tucson Unified School District in several schools as office manager. The principals and teachers appreciated her ability to keep everything straight with good humor and efficiency. The kids loved her cheery greetings and help when lunch money was forgotten. Bobby and Phyllis loved to travel and went on cruises and vacations with friends and made many trips to visit friends and kids around the country and world.

Phyllis loved her kids and supported all their activities - football, cheerleading, swimming, baseball to name a few. She made sure that they stayed in line which wasn’t always easy, especially during the times their dad was serving in Southeast Asia. The grandkids always slept well as they heeded her “don’t let the bedbugs bite” advice! She was a great hugger and everyone felt better after her embrace.

Phyllis was afflicted with dementia for the past several years and died of complications from that awful disease. Son Chuck was selfless the past 5 years keeping her safe while at home, managing insurance and logistics when she entered a memory care facility, and helping out our dad. Phyllis felt a deep affection and trust for husband Bobby and received an abundance of love and care from him as he did everything he could to make sure she was as comfortable and well cared for as possible.  Phyllis will be missed.
