KERNERSVILLE, NC – Mrs. Helen (Robinson) Vanhoy, 86, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Wednesday, December 3rd surrounded by her loved ones.
She was born on February 25, 1939, in Transylvania County, near Brevard, NC, to the late Wade James and Alva Ellen (Whitmire) Robinson.
In addition to her parents, Helen was preceded by her brother Tom Robinson, and her sisters, Karen Scarboro, Margaret McCall, and Christine Parrish.
Helen was a member of Greenwood Hill’s Wesleyan Church for 55 years where she served as a choir member. She was a longtime member of the Kernersville Senior Center. Helen enjoyed gardening, planting flowers, and loved to read.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband of 53 years, Kenneth D. Vanhoy; son, Kenneth Rigsbee; grandchildren, Kayla Rigsbee and Jessica O’Brien (Luke); great-grandchildren, Quinn O’Brien, Aiden O’Brien, and Reese O’Brien; sisters, Ruth Robinson and Ruby Russell; and many nieces and nephews.
Helen’s family would like to thank the staff of Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home and the staff of the Palliative Care Unit at Novant Health Forsyth Medical Center for exceptional support to Helen and the entire family.
A Funeral Service will be held Tuesday, December 9th at 1:00PM at Pierce-Jefferson Funeral Service, 213 West Mountain Street, Kernersville, NC, with visitation starting at 12:00PM in the Chapel. Burial will follow in Eastlawn Gardens of Memory.
In lieu of flowers, family has requested donations be made directly to Kate B. Reynolds Hospice Home, 101 Hospice Lane, Winston-Salem, NC 27103.
