Dreana Alaniz passed away on November 24, 2025, in San Ramon, California. She was a devoted mother to John Alaniz (Gina), Joey Alaniz, and Kim Robinson (the late Jim); and a loving grandmother to John Jr. (Mariela), Emilio (Sara), Gabriel, Izabella Alaniz, and Isys and Nayla Robinson. She is also survived by her sister-in-law, Virginia Lovette; and her nieces Diane Pierotti, Carol Manning, and Holly Hershman, along with many great-nieces, great-nephews, and cousins.
Born on December 7, 1944, in El Cerrito, California, Dreana graduated from Harry Ells High School and married her beloved husband, John Alaniz, on August 6, 1966. They shared 48 years together raising their family. She worked for more than 20 years at Deluca Dental Care and was known for her kindness and dedication.
After her husband’s passing in 2014, Dreana remained active at St. Raymond’s Catholic Church, faithfully volunteering in several ministries. She was an avid knitter, making countless handmade blankets, scarves, hats, and stuffed bears that are now treasured keepsakes for her children, grandchildren and many others. She also loved spoiling her dog Max, and spending time with the large community of friends who became family.
Dreana was preceded in death by her parents, Gino and Florence Pierotti; her husband, John Alaniz; her son-in-law, Jim Robinson; her brother, John Pierotti; and her niece, Tess Porter. She will be remembered always for her warmth, generosity, and unwavering love for her family.
