Monson- Joan E. Pierce, 93, passed away December 9, 2025 with her loving family by her side. She was born on June 23, 1932 in Palmer to the late Robert and Amy (Swetland) Miller. Joan proudly served in the Air Force and later worked as a school bus driver. Her most important roles were that of mother, "Super Gram", and great-grandmother. She will always be remembered for her bright smile, infectious laugh, and the joy she brought to so many.Besides her parents, Joan was preceded in death by 16 siblings from the Miller family in Monson, and her daughters Dawn and Cheri Pierce. She will be dearly missed by her children, Leon Pierce of Clearwater, FL, Duane Pierce of Monson, Roberta Kim Hughes and husband Robert of Monson, Beverly Pierce of Chicopee and Tracy Pierce of Enfield, CT; by her sister, Clara "Tessie" Devorchak of Monson; as well as 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren. Visitation will be held on Monday, December 15, 2025 from 1-3pm with a funeral service to begin at 3pm at the Beers & Story Palmer Funeral Home. Burial will be held privately. In lieu of flowers, donations in Joan's name can be made to the Miller Memorial Park through Country Bank in Palmer.
