Richard Ray Trujillo entered eternal rest on Thursday 11 December 2025. Richard was born 29 May 1940 in Trinidad, Colorado to Anacleto (Nick) of Torres Colorado and Ethel Cole of Cokedale (Trinidad) Colorado. Mr. Trujillo‘s family, early settlers of the South Bank of Rio de Animas in Southern Colorado Spanish land grants. Richard spent his summers and his early years in Torres and Tercio Colorado where his family-owned property. They also owned a house in Jensen Colorado. His family has lived in Colorado for more than 250 years. His great grandfather was one of the first schoolteacher's in Colorado. His family was one of 14 families that came from Ranchos De Taos New Mexico where they lived for more than 200 years.

Richard served in the United States Air Force (Strategic Air Command ) during the Cuban missile crisis from October 1959 to July 1963. He worked on refueling aircraft. He was stationed at Sheppard AFB, Fort Churchill, Manitoba, Canada, LAJES airfield, Azores, Whiteman AFB, Warrensburg, Missouri, and McGuire AFB, New Jersey as an airframe and power jet mechanic.

Richard is survived by his wife Benita Rachel Aragon. She was the daughter of Jose Venerito De Jesús Aragon, he was from San Juan Plaza (Valdez) and Susan Gallegos of Weston, Colorado. Benita and Richard were married on May 28th, 1960, in Weston, Colorado. Richard and Benita were married for over 65 years. Richard is survived by a younger brother, Robert Trujillo. Richard was preceded in death by brothers Nick and Bill Trujillo. Richard achieved an associate degree from Metro university in Denver, Colorado in airframe and power mechanics. He retired from United Airlines working there for over 30 years and was certified by the FAA in airplane and power as an aircraft mechanic. He was involved with: CUB, BOY and GIRL Scouts as a leader and committee member. He also provided support to the Denver adopt a school program.

He survived by three children : 1-Robert Ray Trujillo (Judy) from Salem, Illinois, 2-Pamela Sue Padia (Thornton, CO) & 3- Diego Reyes Trujillo (Merriah) (Thornton, Colorado). Richard has five grandchildren : 1-Michael Ray Trujillo (Sandi) CA, 2- Damacio Trujillo (Deceased), David Martinez, (Cheyenne), Sevina Padia (Jeff) & 5- Brianna Padia. Richard has seven great grandchildren: 1-Haley Kay Trujillo, 2-Michael Ray (MJ) Trujillo, 3- Jaxton Trujillo, 4- Lilianna Martínez , 5-Jordan Martinez, 6-Leyla Martinez, & 7- Genevieve Martinez. For Richard Trujillo the Rosary, Viewing & Funeral Mass is at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church, (7400 west 80th Arvada, CO 80003).

On Monday Dec 29th the visitation & viewing will be at 5:30 pm & the Vigil Service / Rosary will be at 6:00 pm at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church.

On Tuesday Dec 30th the Visitation/ Viewing will be at 10:00 a- 10:30 am .

A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 10:30 am at Spirit of Christ Catholic Church.

The mass will be live streamed on the church website.

Parking is at the rear of building. Ignore pay for parking since it is covered in the rental. No drinks of any kind alcohol or other can be brought into the reception.

There is an open bar. Coffee and water will be provided.

Note due to limited parking it is strongly suggested folks carpool together.
