Dante David Cianelli, 96, passed away peacefully on January 1, 2026, in West Melbourne, Florida. A devoted husband, father, veteran, and man of deep faith, Dante lived a long and meaningful life marked by service, dedication, and love.
Born on December 20, 1929, in Havre de Grace, Maryland, Dante graduated from Havre de Grace High School in the Class of 1948. Shortly after graduation, he answered the call to serve his country by enlisting in the United States Air Force in July 1948. He completed basic training at Sheppard Air Force Base in Texas and served honorably as a Staff Sergeant (Technical) until July 1952. His final station was at Nellis Air Force Base in Nevada.
It was during his time in Nevada that Dante met the love of his life, Marjorie Roberta Urie. The two were married in Las Vegas in 1951 and shared a loving union that endured through decades of joy and challenge until her passing.
Following his military service, Dante embarked on a successful career spanning over three decades in professional automobile sales with the Ford Motor Company. Known for his integrity and personable nature, he built lasting relationships with customers and colleagues alike.
Later in life, Dante brought his talents to the Walt Disney Company as a professional painter during the construction of Animal Kingdom. His work contributed to one of Disney’s most iconic parks. He also served as a porter for Disney Cruise Line at Port Canaveral, Florida—roles that reflected both his strong work ethic and appreciation for craftsmanship.
A man of many interests, Dante found joy in dancing, music, sports, and spending time outdoors. Whether moving to a favorite tune or enjoying nature’s beauty, he embraced life with energy and enthusiasm.
Dante was a lifelong believer in the salvation of Jesus Christ and held steadfast to his faith throughout his life. He was also a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus—a testament to his commitment to community service and spiritual fellowship.
He is lovingly remembered by his sons Michael Anthony Cianelli and Dion Christopher Cianelli. He was preceded in death by his beloved wife Marjorie Roberta Urie Cianelli and their son Dante David Cianelli Jr.
May his memory bring comfort to those who knew him and serve as an enduring reminder of a life well lived.
