Pamela Sue Maddox left us and returned to God on December 18, 2025, after a 24-year battle of melanoma.

Pam was born on July 2, 1954, in Greeley to parents Edwin Dale and JoAnne Samsom. Pam has a younger sister Kimberly, (Casseday). Pam graduated from Greeley Central in 1972. While growing up she enjoyed many family outings on motorcycles especially in the mountains of Northern Colorado.

After high school she went on to the University of Northern Colorado transferring to Fort Lewis in Durango and finally to Colorado State University where she graduated. She went back UNC to earn master’s degree in special education.

Pam worked in Special Education at Namwalka, Thompson Valley High School and Mountain View High School. She loved her children.

Here volunteer work included working at House of Neighborly Service and with Martin Luther Homes.

Pam was active at KOG serving in the Bell Choir, the Altar Guild, teaching Sunday School and participating in many of the Bible Studies. She was active in areas where needed. Her Lemon Bars were also a treat and hardly ever brought any home.

While at CSU Pam met Mark Maddox and they were married on April 19, 1980. Pam and Mark have been blessed with 3 children, Kelly Kristene in 1982, Steven Cory in 1984, and Katherine Maureen in 1986.

She was especially proud being a Colorado native, and she was not afraid to tell you especially to non-natives

Pam experienced and enjoyed a small town life growing up.  Her grandparents operated the only barbershop and bar in Timmough. An aunt who lived on a ranch near Hayden Colorado and a grand father who worked on the railroad in LaSalle Colorado.

It was the small things in life that gave Pam her greatest pleasures, God, family, and her marriage of 45 years. Later in life was her six grandchildren. Lydia, Levi, McKenzie, Aubrey, Greyson and Ada.

Part of her life was spent living at Carter Lake where Mark worked. Their years were affectionately referred to life at Camp Carter. There were many adventures there.

Her devotion and faith to God grew throughout her years at King of Glory, perhaps this is what help her live and fight the cancer for 24 years. Bouts of treatment never got in the way of life. She just shrugged it off and worked through without much pain. However, this last round felt different to Pam. The cancer had spread throughout her body. She stopped treatment placed her faith to God. God was kind and she never suffered.

Pam is survived by her sister Kim, (Gary), husband Mark, Kelly, (Stephen Heckman), Steven, (Ashely Divine-Maddox), Katherine, (Bowman-Maddox), Six grand kids, among other family members.
