Marilyn Sue McGuire, 68, of Greenleaf, Idaho, left this world peacefully on January 4, 2026. Born in Bonne Terre, Missouri, to the late David and Ruth (Jackson) Cromer, Marilyn lived a life shaped by quiet strength, compassion, and unwavering love for her family.
Marilyn proudly served in the United States Air Force, carrying the values of integrity and resilience throughout her life. Her greatest joy, however, was her family. She was the beloved wife of Garth McGuire and a central presence in the lives of her children, Todd (Jane), Brandon, Jessica (Curtis), Ashley (Jack), and Sean, as well as her grandchildren, who brought her immense pride and joy.
Her kitchen, often filled with the aroma of freshly baked goods, was the center of the household and the place where her children naturally gathered. Cooking was more than a pastime for Marilyn; it was how she nurtured, connected, and stayed closely involved in the daily lives of her family. An artist at heart, Marilyn expressed her love through the intricate stitches of her quilts. Each heirloom she created served as a physical reminder of her patience and care, warmth that her family will continue to feel for generations to come.
She is survived by her husband, children, and siblings Michael Cromer, Norman Cromer and Sybil Cromer. She was preceded in death by her parents and her sister, Sharon.
A memorial service honoring Marilyn’s life will be held at Txoko Ona (333 S. Main St. Homedale, ID 83628) on January 17th from 1200-1500.
