Susan Thickett passed away on January 2, 2026. She is survived by her husband of 58 years, Glyn; her daughters Brenda (and husband Andreas Papadatos) and Lorna (and husband Chris Wolf); four grandchildren, Max and Kate Papadatos, and Liam and Henry Wolf; her brother Ian Dalglish, four nieces and one nephew.

Sue was born on May 25, 1939 in London, England. At six months of age, she was adopted by Phyllis and John Dalglish of Glasgow, Scotland, and was raised by them there.  She trained at Physiotherapy college in Scotland, graduating in 1960.   She emigrated to the United States in 1961, moving to Philadelphia, and then to Seattle in 1962, where she lived and worked as a physical therapist until 2000.  She traveled extensively, going around the world in 1964.  In 1966, she met Glyn in Seattle, and they were married in Scotland in 1968.  Sue and Glyn retired in 2000 and moved to Tucson where they both lived until she passed away on January 2, 2026 after a seven-month fight with acute myeloid leukemia.

Sue was always active in sports, including rowing, lacrosse and her favorite sport, tennis.  In her youth, she competed in tennis tournaments across Scotland and once represented Scotland in an international competition.  She followed the professional circuit her whole life, always knowing what was going on in the rankings, and enjoyed attending tournaments including Wimbledon, the US Open, and Indian Wells.

Sue was also very well known for her traveling, having visited over one hundred countries around the world. She loved planning trips, the more remote the better, and would return with loads of stories, photographs and memories of what she had seen, tasted and experienced.  As part of her travels, she also loved to support artists across the world.

In addition to her time spent traveling, Sue also gave back to her local communities as an active volunteer with organizations including Washington Women in Need, the Arizona State Museum Basket Laboratory, and the Sky Island Alliance.

Sue is remembered by many for her sharp wit, love of a good party with friends and family, cookery skills and endless beautiful photos taken on her travels across every continent.

She will be missed by many, both family and friends alike. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Blood Cancer United in her honor: https://bloodcancerunited.org.
