Audrey “Audie” Lorraine Willson, born on September 27, 1941, in Aurora, Illinois, left this world for eternal peace on December 30, 2025. She was the daughter of John W. Willson and Lorraine B. Apsit. She was one of five children, three sisters and one brother. When she was about twelve, her family moved to Longmont, Colorado, where she met two of her lifelong friends, Midge Miller and Shara Davies, friendships she cherished throughout her life.
Audie graduated with the Longmont High School Class of 1959 and soon after married Thomas L. Beshears. Together, they welcomed two children in their young lives. In 1980, she married Richard W. Meier. Before their marriage, the two spent a memorable summer traveling across the United States and into Canada in their 1980’s van, an adventure that marked the beginning of many years together, including building a glass business side by side.
Audie was full of life — fun, spirited, and always ready for a trip or a gathering. She loved traveling and spending time with her friends and family. She was on several bowling teams as well. A devoted sports fan, she especially enjoyed watching the Indiana Fever with her granddaughter and cheering on her beloved Denver Broncos. She held season tickets for many years, braving countless cold games in the South Stands. As a proud member of the Quarterback Club, she had the chance to meet John Elway and attend many Broncos events, from dinners to Bronco Water World outings with her family.
She had a wide circle of friends and treasured the many lunches, happy hours, class reunions, dinners, and parties she shared with them. Audie worked in shipping and receiving at Budget Home Supply, a job she truly enjoyed, and retired at the age of 80 after many dedicated years. She especially loved participating in the “Ladies in the Lumberyard” events whenever she could.
In retirement, she continued to embrace adventure, traveling with her dear friend Midge on a train trip to the East Coast, taking a cruise, visiting Saratoga, Wyoming, and even ziplining in Mexico. A lifelong dog lover, she adored all the family pets over the years.
Audie was preceded in death by her husband, her parents, her brother John, her sister Heather, niece Lori Burzel and her daughterinlaw Stephanie Beshears.
She is survived by her daughter Lynne (Brian) Weber, her son Thomas W. Beshears, and her stepdaughters Cindy (Don) Lewis and Laurie Currie. She leaves behind her grandchildren Sean (Brooke) Beshears, Sarah (Bekkah) Beshears, Chad (Zoe) Lewis, Ryan (Katie) Lewis, and Logan Currie, as well as five greatgrandchildren. She is also survived by her sisters Sandy (Pierre) Trevithick and Wendy Willson, her niece Patty Green, her sisterinlaw Carol (Darrel), her brothersinlaw Roger, Charles, and Steve, and many extended family members and friends.
A service to honor Audie’s life will be held on Friday, January 16th at 2:00 PM at CarrollLewellen Funeral Home, 503 Terry St., Longmont, CO 80501. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the American Heart Association at www.heart.org, or to TRU Community Care, 2594 Trailridge Drive East, Lafayette, CO 80026, or online at www.trucare.org/donate.
Everyone is welcome to wear their Broncos attire — she would absolutely approve.
Her spirit will forever inspire us, her love will forever surround us, and her memory will forever live in our hearts.
