It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Alice Lenardon, our Mom and Nonna.  Alice, 100, passed away on January 7, 2026, and was the daughter of Carlo and Stella DeConcini. 

Alice was born in Casez, Italy, and came to the United States where she was reunited with her brothers. In 1956 she married Ettore Lenardon, a marriage rooted in devotion and love. That same year, Alice and Ettore built their family home, filled it with love and joy, and where she lived until her last day.

Throughout Alice’s life, her greatest joy was spending time with her family and friends. She never missed an opportunity to welcome you into her home to share a cup of coffee or for “a little something” around the kitchen table. 

Alice always saw the positive in people and had an encouraging word for anyone who needed it. Her heart of gold and her gentle wisdom were gifts she shared freely with family and friends of all ages. 

Her greatest strength was teaching us the meaning of true family,  love, patience, and enduring faith (never without her rosary or Santa Rita).  And, of course, no one could be a more devoted Italian mother and Nonna without sharing Italian traditions and her favorite recipes.

Alice is survived by her daughter Gina (Mike) Shumsky, Lisa (Phil) Stough and Carla (Don Rickel); four grandchildren, and one great grandson (“The most beautiful baby in the world.”).

Mom & Nonna…rest in peace. 

Funeral services will be at St. Joseph’s Church, 215 S. Craycroft Road, Tucson, on Saturday, March 7 at 11:00 a.m., preceded by a rosary at 10:15 a.m. The family will hold a private burial service.
