Cynthia "Cindy" Potts Smith, 84, of Colfax passed away on January 23, 2026 under the care of AuthoraCare Collective in Greensboro. Born in Guilford County, North Carolina, she was the daughter of the late Ira and Ruby (Pace) Potts and wife to Jerry Smith.
Cindy is survived by her loving husband, Jerry Smith; her children, Christopher Smith (Dana); her grandchildren, Krista E. Smith (Brandon Richardson); her great-grandchildren, Linda and Christopher; and her siblings, Becky Johnson (Lee) and Richard Potts (Margaret).
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her granddaughter, Bethany Smith, and her brother, David Potts.
The family will receive friends at Shady Grove Wesleyan Church, 119 N Bunker Hill Rd, Colfax, NC 27235 on Friday, January 30, 2026 from 1:00PM - 2:00PM. Funeral services will follow beginning at 2:00PM with Pastor Phil Kirkman and Pastor Todd Reynolds officiating. Interment will follow in the church cemetery.
In lieu of flowers, those desiring may make memorial contributions to the North Carolina Stroke Association.
