Milburn Hornback, age 90, passed away peacefully in his home in Tucson, Arizona, surrounded by family, on January 13, 2026, following a long illness. He is survived by a brother, David (Charlotte) Hornback of Huntington IN, and 5 children: Bonnie Banks of Robinson IL, Teresa (Ken) Kercher of Evansville IN, Richard (Cyndy) Hornback of Randleman NC, Milburn Eugene (Dana) Hornback of Bellmont IL, and Tonya Keathley of Tucson AZ. He is also survived by several grandchildren, great grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Rev Arthur Raymond and Helen Edell (Wilson) Hornback, his sisters Lorene Zuch of Ohio, and Ruth McCoy of Florida, his first wife Reyburn Louise (Heath) Hornback, and his second wife Marilyn (Guyer) Hornback.
He wore many hats throughout his lifetime: He was a Corporal in the Marine Corps who specialized in radio telegraph operations. He worked in research and development for Hamilton Cosco. He earned multiple pilot’s licenses. He was co-owner of Heath Key Market in Lawrenceville, IL, followed by co-ownership of Heath Western Auto/True Value. He worked as a pipefitter for the Indian Refinery in Lawrenceville, IL and worked for Guyer Electric.
He and Marilyn became snowbirds to Tucson in 2004 and made the permanent move around 2016. Milburn enjoyed riding his recumbent bicycle throughout the Voyager resort every day, proudly logging ten miles on his ride while he visited with neighbors and friends. He also traveled extensively throughout the world in his lifetime and loved every minute of it.
