Monson- Christopher J. "Chris" Oliver, 56, passed away January 22, 2026. He was born on September 12, 1969, in Fort Pierce, FL., son of Jerome Carlton and Wanita Emmeck Oliver. Chris graduated from Martin County High School in 1987 and studied engineering at the University of Central Florida, graduating in 1995.

 

Soon thereafter, he commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Army, serving in Georgia, Germany, North Carolina, New York, Hawaii, and Texas. During his military career, Chris served tours in Macedonia, Bosnia, Iraq and Afghanistan. In 2020, Chris retired from the military after 25 years of faithful and honorable service.

 

Chris was a fan of minor league sports, especially hockey and baseball. He also loved boating and found peace on the water, especially at the family cabin in Minnesota. He took great pride in his home and enjoyed working around the house, always improving it. Most of all, he loved caring for his family and raising his children.

 

Chris was preceded in death by his mother, Wanita (Emmeck) Oliver. He will be dearly missed by his beloved wife of 26 years, Germaine (Kolbly) Oliver; their children, Griffin and Keely Oliver; sisters, Laura Luedtke and Cori Oliver; father, Jerome Carlton Oliver; as well as many cousins, extended family, and dear friends.

 

Visitation will be held on Monday, March 2, 2026 from 11:00am-12:00pm with a service to be held at 12:00pm at the Beers & Story Funeral Home in Palmer, MA. Burial will immediately follow where military honors will be rendered. In lieu of flowers, donations in Chris' name can be made to the American Lung Association at lung.org.

 

Chris will be forever missed, and his legacy will live on in the many lives he touched.
