Lenore Kathryn "Lee" Jacobson (née Malchiodi), age 93, passed away peacefully on February 13, 2026, in Tucson, Arizona. A devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and nurse, Lee lived a life marked by compassion, dedication, and unwavering love for her family and faith.
Born on April 29, 1932, in Chicago, Illinois, Lee was the daughter of Mary and Joseph Malchiodi. She grew up in Chicago and graduated from Tuley High School before pursuing her calling in nursing. She earned her Bachelor of Science in Nursing from Saint Xavier School of Nursing and later continued her education through graduate studies at DePaul University.
Lee dedicated nearly four decades to the nursing profession in the Chicago area. Her career as both a nurse and a nursing instructor reflected her deep commitment to caring for others and mentoring future generations of healthcare professionals. She retired as a nursing instructor in 1988 from Harper College, Palentine, Il after a long and impactful career that touched countless lives.
A lifelong Catholic with deep spiritual beliefs, Lee’s faith was a guiding force throughout her life. Her devotion shaped not only her personal values but also the way she treated others—with kindness, generosity, and grace.
Lee was married to Thomas Jacobson for 54 years until his passing. Together, they built a loving home filled with warmth and laughter. She found immense joy in raising their children: Tom Jacobson (Terri Bailey), Terry Carman (Jay Carman), Mary Neshek (Dave Neshek), and Kirsten Bice. Her role as a mother brought her great pride and fulfillment.
Her love extended deeply to her grandchildren—Jake, Samantha, Tommy Joe, Stephanie, Katie, Shauna, Alex, Angelina—and great-grandchildren Beau and Sonny. Known affectionately as the heart of the family, Lee was adored by all of them. Her radiant smile and vibrant personality lit up every room she entered. She was a wonderful friend and neighbor whose giving spirit left an indelible mark on those around her.
Lee is also survived by her brother, Paul Joseph PJ Malchiodi (Kathy Malchiodi); numerous nieces, nephews, cousins; and many dear friends who cherished her presence in their lives. She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Thomas Jacobson, granddaughter, Angelina Knox, son-in-law James Bice, and parents, Mary and Joseph Malchiodi.
May Lenore Kathryn "Lee" Jacobson’s memory continue to bring comfort to those who knew and loved her.
