Bobby Lee Lane, age 90 of Kingsport, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Tuesday, February 24, 2026.  Bobby was born on September 12, 1935, in Kingsport to Curtis and Rosa Lane.  On June 2, 1955, Bobby married his most cherished friend, Carolyn Tate, and after 70 years of a beautiful marriage, she survives.   

Bobby worked many decades as a manager in the grocery retail business and throughout those years, he received many outstanding acknowledgements and awards for his work ethic.  He also enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family. 

Bobby was preceded in death by his parents; daughter, Melissa Lane; and one sister, Barbara Sue Lane.  Those left to cherish his memory are his devoted wife, Carolyn Lane; two sons, Michael Lane, and Milburn Lane and wife, Shonda; three grandchildren; several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren; and many other loving family and friends.  

The family will receive friends on Monday, March 2, 2026, from 5:00 pm to 7:00 pm at Carter-Trent Funeral Home Kingsport.  A graveside service will be held on Tuesday, March 3, 2026, at 2:00 pm at Washington County Memory Gardens in Johnson City.  Those wishing to attend the graveside service are asked to meet at the cemetery at 1:50 pm in the mausoleum chapel.  Bobby’s family and friends will be serving as pallbearers.
