Gary Retter
August 5th, 1957 - November 17th, 2014
My Life Story Gary William Retter passed away on November 17, 2014 from natural causes. He was born on August 5, 1957 in Boise, Idaho to William and Jeane (Betty) Retter. He graduated from Boise High School, and received his associate degree from Boise State University. He married Shelley Cromwell in 1982 in Boise. During high school, Gary began working on old cars in order to support his love of building and racing dune buggies. After 10 years of working at the Gamekeeper Restaurant, Gary and his high school buddy, Mike, turned their hobby into an import auto repair business that would become known throughout the area. His real passion, however, was riding motorcycles. Whether on his dirt bike or his dual sport, he loved adventuring throughout Idaho, telling stories by the campfire, and hanging out at the cabin in McCall. Sunday night dinners will never be the same. Gary is survived by his wife Shelley, his three children: Mackenzie (Travis) Becker of Boise, Alex (Whitney) Retter of Twin Falls, Paige Retter of San Francisco, four grandsons: Camden, Logan, Colton, and Xavier Becker, his mother Betty Retter, sister Beth Schrimsher, and lots of in-laws, nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, Bill Retter. Services will be held Monday, November 24, at 11:00 AM at St. Stephen’s Episcopal Church, 2206 N. Cole Road in Boise. A Celebration of Life (i.e., a party) will be held later in the spring. To leave remembrances for the family please visit www.AccentFuneral.com. We Entrusted Gary Retter's Care To
Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
