My Life Story Fred was born in Los Angeles, California December 8, 1935 to Christopher and Alicia (Martinez) Sanchez. He passed away due to incidences of old age on October 15, 2015 at his home in Meridian with his wife Judy and family at his bedside. Freddie was raised in Anaheim CA having "the most wonderful childhood ever"--borrowing oranges from groves to toss to the WWII troop trains and in return receiving coins from the appreciative GIs. After school and on weekends and vacations, he and brothers and friends would hitchhike to the beach and surf the day away. He attended Catholic grade school remembering the feel of "the ruler" once in a while. Freddie graduated Anaheim high school in 1953 and entered the Army thereafter. Freddie was stationed in Fort Campbell, Kentucky and married Georgia Emerson of Anaheim, and was then stationed at Fort Bragg where son Micheal was born. Upon discharge from the army Freddie and Georgia returned to California and welcomed daughter Daneen. Fred went to cosmetology school and became a hair stylist. This was his profession for 40 years until 1998. As a hair dresser Freddie learned quickly to smile and nod when hearing of his clients adventures—a characteristic he carried over into everyday life. Freddie also enjoyed working on cars--being a "louver" man. He was a member of the Street Sweepers of Anaheim. Fred, Georgia and kids subsequently moved to Clear Lake California where Fred continued his hair styling profession. In 1968 Fred, Michael, and Daneen moved to Boise Idaho. Fred then married Gale King and adopted her two children Tammy and Phil. Fred had his shop "Fredrick’s" on Overland Road across from Whitney school. His time was spent remodeling properties to live in, helping to rear four children, helping a younger brother Gene with his young family & assisting Gene through beauty school. In 1978 Freddie returned to California to open a shop in Healdsburg, California. In 1980 Fred married Gale Yenter and lived in Windsor, California. There he met his very good friends Linda & Larry Moody who subsequently moved to Idaho. Fred loved to do woodwork--making entertainment centers, bookcases, patio decks, a very special wagon for Tammy and Lee to use in their Wagons Ho business out of Whitebird. He also loved to golf--golfing in Hawaii, in Alaska with the bears, Pebble Beach, Jackpot (while Judy gambled), Wild Horse (while Judy gambled--Judy doesn't golf.) In 1999 Freddie returned to Idaho, reuniting with his children and grandchildren. Freddie met Judy Heaton in May, 2000 and they married in April 2004. They have been a couple since then. During Judy's working years, Fred took care of the cooking and the yard, helping with Judy's love of flowers and being a great grandpa to a myriad of grandchildren and great grandchildren. Fred and his friends Larry and George loved to fish-- crappie here we come. Fred took the grandkids fishing, camping, golfing (actually they drove the cart). Fred and Judy took many trips to central and north Idaho to visit with his daughter Tammy and husband Lee as well as the grands and great grands. Sanchez's got to travel to Hawaii, Alaska (oh those silvers!!), Yellowstone, the west coast and California to visit Fred's sister Arlene (Rick) and his brother Ron (Kaye) as well as many Street Sweeper friends and high school friends. Oh and don't forget Freddie helping Ken and Terry with functions at the hunting lodge off Big Willow Creek. Freddie’s relationship with Judy’s children: Wendy, Rich and David and their families was one of admiration, respect, and great humor. Fred enjoyed his grandkids: Zach, Rachael, Bevin, Tyler, Kelsey, Dylan and Sydney and great grandkids: Zach, Camas, River, Ashley and Traecon. He was an amazing grandpa to Judy’s five grandkids also—Ashton, Codi, Sedona, Dakota and Baylee. Cheap-seat movies were a must—bring your own candy. Grandpa was there with his Albertson’s cookies just like “His grandma used to buy.” Everybody loved Grandpa’s salsa, and his gentle off-the-wall sense of humor. Freddie was a blessing in our lives and will be sorely missed. We were so lucky to have you. A special thank you goes to our grandson Ashton for the many times he helped Grandpa “get back on his feet. “ Also many grateful thanks to our Boise VA for their A-#1 treatment of Freddie for these last seven years including the Blue Team, PA McColley, the Oncology department including PA Tony Mabane, Anthony, Dr. Alurri, PA Jennifer, Kathy, Janet, Betty, Kelly, and the Specialty Clinic. These past two months we have been able to have Freddie at home thanks to the help of Legacy Hospice especially Barbara, Amanda, Mary, our angel Ila, Sara, and Lauren. God bless all of you. *See "Service Information" tab for service details.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
