Raymond Perez Jr.
April 4th, 1936 - July 4th, 2013
My Life Story Raymond Perez, Jr. passed away on Thursday, July 4, 2013, surrounded by his loved ones. Raymond was born April 4, 1936 to Raymond Sr. and Delores Perez in Artesia, California. Raymond was married to Rachel, his childhood sweetheart and love of his life on November 30, 1957. They would have celebrated their 50th wedding anniversary; however, Rachel's life was cut short due to her battle with cancer in April of 2007. Although Rachel passed, Raymond's love for his wife remained true and lasting until his last breathe. Raymond, "Pop", was a simple man, a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He loved God, he loved his family, and loved to work. He had a high moral code, a strong sense of right and wrong, and a unique ability to bend both to fit his agendas. Pop taught us kids well, through the example of his strong work ethic, respect for others, and sacrifice for those whom you love. Pop loved anything where he could spend time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, whether we were at work or playing sports. He loved westerns and could spend hours watching them, once or a hundred times. Raymond enjoyed playing cards, dominoes and attending his grandchildren's sporting events. Another of his favored past times was finding an opportunity to be mischievous with his grandchildren. In the end, Pop continued to exhibit one of his most admirable qualities, the ability to endure pain and suffering without complaint. We will cherish the moments we witnessed his childlike joy, sense of humor and a constant disposition which spawned the words "I've lived a good life, I can't complain." These words will remain as a legacy in our hearts. He was loved and cherished in life and will be profoundly missed in death. We find such comfort in knowing he loved his Lord and was loved by Him and we will join Pop and Mom upon our passing. Raymond is survived by his eldest son, Raymond Perez III and wife, Christy; son, Richard and wife, Rose; daughters, Cynthia Perez, Diane Adams and husband, Trevor, Laurie Weatherby and husband, B.J., Vivian Kincaid and husband, Chris; thirteen grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; sisters, Angie Martinez and Ruthie Pacheco.

Accent Funeral Home
A local landmark in Meridian, Accent Funeral Home has been serving the community since 1986. The business was first established with a vision to offer services in a comfortable, homelike atmosphere. This vision is reflected in our building, a Tudor-style home built in 1938 for a local postman. When remodeling the house to accommodate the funeral home, much care was taken to preserve the original architectural integrity of the building. The Accent Funeral Home holds a special relationship with the Meridian community and is sensitive to the area’s changing needs, providing service and friendship to comfort those we serve....
