Jeanne Shelton

Geraline Carico "Jeanne" Shelton, 75, of Gate City, went to be with the Lord, Sunday February 2, 2014 at Indian Path Medical Center. A 1956 graduate of Ketron High School, Jeanne was a former member of Temple Baptist Church and a longtime believer in Christ. The matriarch of her family, she traveled in her younger years and spent much of her life raising children, grandchildren, and even great-grandchildren. A passionate soul by nature, Jeanne enjoyed trying new things and exploring various hobbies, including studying ancestry. She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Lillie Carico, infant daughter, Cynthia Durham; brother, Jerry Carico She is survived by her husband of 50 years, Ronald Shelton; three daughters, Crystal Feagins, Larissa Dorton and Kimberly Shelton; one son, Bryan Shelton and wife Sheila; six grandchildren, Amber Demma, Britni Demma, Jackie Dorton and wife Regina, Corey Feagins and wife Heidi, Lakeisha Shelton and Kristina Shelton; two great grandchildren, Trinity Pearce and Skyler Lipski; one brother, J.D. Carico and wife Opal and four nephews The family will receive friends from 5 till 7pm Tuesday February 4, 2013 at Scott County Funeral Home. A funeral service will follow at 7pm with Rev. Paul Blessing and Rev. Corey Feagins officiating. A graveside service will be conducted at 11am Wednesday at Holston View Cemetery. Pallbearers will be family and friends. Special thanks should go to the staff of the E.R. and I.C.U. departments of Indian Path Hospital for their care. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the charity of one's choice.
