Kingsport - Ronnie Thomas Davis, 79 of Kingsport, went to be with the Lord on Tuesday, February 2, 2016 at Indian Path Medical Center following a lengthy illness. He was a lifelong resident of Kingsport. Ronnie worked at Kingsport Provision and retired from Quebecor following 30 years of service. He enjoyed sports and loved fishing. Ronnie loved his family and enjoyed spending time with them. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Tina Davis Shelton; his parents, Hubert and Maggie Pierson Davis; sisters, Linda Blankenbeckler and Blanche Kitzmiller. Ronnie is survived by his wife of 56 years, Linda Davenport Davis; son, Joey Davis and wife Sharon; granddaughters, Jodie Tate and husband Daniel and Hope Sawyer; grandson, Nigel Shelton; great granddaughters, Kayli and Kelsie Shelton; brother, Gary Davis and wife Frances; several nieces and nephews; special nephew, Mark Davis. The family will receive friends from 11 a.m. until 1 p.m. Saturday, February 6, 2016 at Carter-Trent Funeral Home in Kingsport. Friends may also call anytime at the residence. A funeral service will follow at 1 p.m. in the funeral home chapel with Pastor Josh McKinney and Mark Davis officiating. Music will be provided by granddaughters, Jodi Tate and Hope Sawyer. Burial will follow in East Lawn Memorial Park. Pallbearers will be Mark Davis, Nigel Shelton, Daniel Tate, Brian Davis, Paul Couch and Danny Glover. The family would like to extend a special thanks to the 4th and 5th floor nursing staff at Indian Path Medical Center, Asbury at Baysmont, Fresenius Medical Care and Hospice Care for their care and concern.
