Sharon Cothern Carroll passed away peacefully surrounded by family on November 12, 2021, at St. Joseph Hospital after a brief illness. Sharon was born in Louisville, KY on February 19, 1945, to Charlene and Harold Cothern. She was a graduate of Wagoner High School Class of 1963 and Sullivan College of Business. Sharon was married to the love of her life, Tom, for 56 years. She was an avid philanthropist within Woodford County. Sharon was the founder of the girls’ soccer program at WYSA in 1986. She donated her spare time and energy coaching and serving as the Treasurer for WYSA for 3 years. As a retired office manager for REM Co., she continued to engage in charitable services lending support to the Versailles Presbyterian backpack program and Woodford Humane Society. In recent years, hawk watching became a favorite pastime and she formed lifelong friends around the world. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her beloved brother Lloyd Cothern. She is survived by her husband Tom Carroll, daughter Lisa (Travis) Yearsley, son Bryan Carroll, grandchildren: Mallory (Ryan) Pervarski, Bryan Carroll II, Bryson Carroll, Layne Carroll, Jayce Carroll, Morgan Yearsley and Jillian Yearsley. Sharon never liked to be the center of attention and per her wishes there will be no services. We all know how much Sharon loved cooking and giving to others, so all who wish to honor her life may do so by donating to Versailles Presbyterian Church backpack program for Simmons Elementary or the Food Bank of Woodford County in her name.
