Edith Smith Huddleston, 70, passed away on Thursday, August 3, 2023. The daughter of Estill and Denvie Parks Smith, Edith was born February 23, 1953, in Lexington, Kentucky. A retiree of Trane Technologies, Edith loved to go out to eat. She enjoyed sitting on her front porch, drinking coffee, and feeding the chickens, reading her Bible, and visiting with her siblings and nieces. Though she enjoyed going out to eat at several different restaurants, Midway Shell, according to Edith, had the best chicken. Edith was one of a kind, never mad, always pleasant, and easy to talk to, but very protective of her family. Edith is survived by her children, Melissa Marie Wilson of Midway, Amanda Lynn Huddleston of Versailles, and John and Krystal Huddleston of Midway; her sister, Nyiokea and Larry Spencer of Midway; brothers, M.T. Smith of Lexington, and Kenneth Smith of FL; her grandchildren, Kevin and Jill Briscoe, Nadia Huddleston, Mahala Huddleston, Sara Lynn Huddleston, Whitney Brooks, and Corey Brooks; and 5 great grandchildren. In addition to her parents, Estill and Denvie Parks Smith, Edith was preceded in death by her sister, Geraldine Oaks and brothers, Ike Smith, Floyd Smith, Dorsey Smith, Ronald Smith, and Roy Smith. A Funeral Service will be held 1:00pm, Wednesday, August 9, 2023, at Clark Funeral Home, Rose Hill, Versailles with Rev. Dave Ray officiating. Burial will follow at Midway Cemetery. Corey Brooks, Kevin Briscoe, Jeff Spencer, Eddie Spencer, Jason Smith, and Memo Ricardo will serve as pallbearers. Visitation will be from 11:00am until the time of service on Wednesday, at the funeral home.
