Lucy Flahiff was one of the region's early female morticians and, during the 1950s through the 1970s, served on the Caldwell Public Library Board for 15 years and on the Mayor's Committee on hiring the handicapped and older workers. She retired from active practice in the mortuary profession in 1976.
