Funeral Homes in the Palm Bay, Florida Metro Area

Seven funeral homes and arrangement centers serve the Palm Bay, Florida metropolitan area, located across Melbourne, Palm Bay, Rockledge, Indian Harbour Beach, and Cocoa Beach. The market spans Brevard County's Atlantic coastline and inland communities, from Cocoa Beach in the north to Palm Bay in the south. Services available across the market include burial, cremation, funeral and memorial services, pre-need planning, veterans services with military honors, and ash scattering assistance. Several locations offer reception and catered events, and arrangement-only centers are available for families who do not require on-site chapel or service facilities.

  • Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care - Melbourne, located in Melbourne, is a funeral home with an on-site crematory founded in 1971 by George W. Ammen, Jr. as South Brevard Funeral Home — one of the longest-established funeral operations in Brevard County. The Space Coast Crematory was added to the Melbourne facility in 1984 and has remained in operation since. Families with military service members frequently cite the location's experience coordinating veteran care, including arrangements with Arlington National Cemetery.
  • Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care - Palm Bay, located in Palm Bay, is a funeral home opened in 1984 as Palm Bay Funeral Home by the Ammen family. The facility includes a chapel and reception and event space, and Spanish-language services are available. Cremation services are arranged through this location and performed at the Melbourne facility.
  • Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care - Rockledge, located in Rockledge, is an arrangement center and the third location established by the Ammen family in Brevard County. The location offers identification and private viewings and provides Spanish-language services. Families requiring a chapel or reception space are accommodated through the Melbourne or Palm Bay locations.
  • Atlantic Mortuary and Cremation, located in Rockledge, is an arrangement center founded in 2008 by David A. Comoletti that recently reopened in a new building. The location offers an expanded range of disposition options including memorial reef placement, memorial tree and urn placement, and body donation coordination, available through licensed partner providers. Transparent, straightforward pricing is a theme that appears consistently across reviews, with families noting that costs were clearly explained from the outset.
  • Beach Funeral Homes, located in Indian Harbour Beach, is a funeral home established in 2008 and the only beachside funeral service provider on Melbourne's Barrier Island. The location's proximity to Patrick Air Force Base has shaped a practice with particular depth in patriotic tributes and veterans services with military honors. Team members are proficient in Spanish and Portuguese. The facility includes a chapel and reception and event space.
  • Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes & Crematory - Cocoa Beach, located in Cocoa Beach, is a funeral home originally founded in 1978 and the sole funeral service provider located within the city of Cocoa Beach. The facility includes multiple chapels and reception and event space, and Spanish-language services are available. Reviews frequently note that flexible payment terms made arrangements easier to manage.
  • Beckman-Williamson Funeral Homes & Crematory - Viera, located in Rockledge and serving the Viera community, is a funeral home offering burial, cremation, funeral and memorial services, veterans services with military honors, pre-need planning, reception and catered events, and ash scattering assistance. The facility includes multiple chapels and reception and event space, and Spanish-language services are available. Reviews consistently note that staff guidance extends throughout the entire arrangement process, with clearly communicated pricing appearing as a recurring theme.

Families choosing among locations in this market typically consider proximity to home or a specific community, whether they need on-site chapel and reception facilities or prefer an arrangement center that coordinates services elsewhere, and whether specific capabilities — such as an on-site crematory, multilingual staff, or depth in veterans services — match their needs. Arrangement centers such as Atlantic Mortuary and Cremation and the Ammen Rockledge location handle the planning process directly but do not host services on-site, while full-service funeral homes in Melbourne, Palm Bay, Cocoa Beach, and Viera offer chapel facilities and, in Melbourne's case, on-site cremation. Across multiple locations in this market, families frequently note in reviews that individual staff members are recognized by name — a pattern consistent enough to reflect a market-wide approach to personal attention rather than a differentiator of any single location.

This review is long overdue. My family and I entrusted Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care in Palm Bay, Florida with our father’s care and services in July 2025. I am so thankful we did. The location is tastefully decorated, and had room for us to provide food and refreshments to our guests. The staff is amazing! Lizette’s kindness and caring was truly a blessing during a very difficult time. She worked with us, Veterans Affairs, and the Cape Canaveral National Cemetery to ensure everything was taken care of in a timely manner. Heather patiently reviewed all the options with us and ensured our father was transported to the national cemetery in the way we desired. Amber and Beverly were very supportive the day of our father’s funeral. A huge THANK YOU to Ammen Family Cremation & Funeral Care for all your support in our time of need. We highly recommend this funeral home.

My parents prepaid years ago with this Funeral home but they had another location in Suntree that has since closed. We did not know how it would work because my parents have moved a few times since. The hospice nurse who came the morning my Dad passed called and dealt with Jeff. Jeff is a funeral director at this funeral home. He called me and was so very professional and understanding. He arranged from hours away to find a local funeral home to deal with us. He kept in touch with me during the whole process. He even did what he could from there so the funeral home we dealt with didn't have to. The funeral home near by never even called us or confirmed anything just let Jeff do everything. I highly recommend this funeral home, ask to see Jeff he is very knowledgeable and caring. It was great everything was preplanned the only charges that change is the price of death certificates. Jeff was up front and honest about the difference. Thank you Jeff you made the process so much easier in this sad time.

We are not from the area but my dad had requested that he be buried in Florida. As his health was failing I started researching burials and places. My husband and I stopped in at the Beckman-Williamson Funeral Home and talked with Paula (I might have that name wrong, it was a blur). She was so nice and easy to talk to. She didn’t have a heavy sell but we found her truthful and sincere. She even helped us find the burial place which was not far. A few days later my dad died and we met with Matt. He was also easy to talk with. Explained the process and got things started for us. I was able to see my dad and verify that he looked right and add a few pins to his suit. Later at the grounds, the people from the funeral home arrived, set dad up and then got out of the way. They were respectful at all times. I am very thankful for their professionalism and empathy. I would highly recommend them to anyone that has suffered a loss and doesn’t know which way to turn. Thank you. Terriruth Carrier
